Our NDIS accommodation matching assessment aims to determine the most suitable living arrangements for participants whether it’s group homes or other accommodations.

The assessment process involves gathering information about the participant’s disability, living situation, and support needs. The NDIS considers a range of factors such as mobility, personal care, and the need for assistive technology when determining suitable accommodation options.

Our assessments can support your evaluation process and ensure the best possible outcomes for your clients.

We always consider the following:

  • Individual and environmental factors to identify any potential risks or gaps in a proposed grouping.
  • The specific needs, goals, and support requirements of the participant.

When do participants need NDIS accommodation assessment?

NDIS accommodation assessment is typically for participants who require specialist disability accommodation (SDA) and Supported Independent Living (SIL).

For individuals with complex behavioural needs, a thorough assessment of potential risks is necessary before accommodating them in a residential setting. This involves preparing a detailed report that outlines the level of risk and provides recommendations for addressing or reducing any known risks associated with their support needs. To ensure accuracy, we carefully select assessment tools that are best suited to the individual’s specific risks and needs.

When do participants need NDIS accommodation assessment?

They are new NDIS participants who need SDA or SIL.
They are existing NDIS participant, but their circumstances changed.
If there are significant changes in the participant’s life circumstances, such as transitioning from a hospital or residential care setting back into the community.

Our approach

1

Tailored accommodation solutions

Our NDIS accommodation assessment service focuses on understanding the unique needs and goals of each participant. By conducting a thorough assessment, the NDIS can match participants with accommodation options that align with their specific requirements. This personalised approach ensures that participants have access to suitable living arrangements that enhance their quality of life and promote their independence.
2

Access to suitable support services

We not only consider the physical aspects of housing, but also take into account the support services required by participants. Depending on an individual's needs, our assessment can identify and recommend appropriate support services, such as personal care, assistive technology, therapy, or transportation. With this comprehensive evaluation participants can access the necessary support to achieve their goals and maintain their overall well-being.
3

Enhanced safety and accessibility

Safety and accessibility are the most key factors in providing suitable accommodation for NDIS participants. In our assessment process we consider the necessary accessibility features for participants to enable independent living as much as possible.
4

Empowerment and choice

The NDIS is all about the principles of choice and control, aiming to empower participants in making decisions about their lives. Accommodation assessments support this principle by offering participants a range of suitable options to choose from. We encourage participants to actively participate in the assessment process, express their preferences, and have a say in deciding their future living arrangements. This empowerment fosters a sense of ownership and control over their own lives.
5

Long-term planning and stability

Our focus is always on immediate needs as well as long-term goals and aspirations. We assess the suitability of accommodation options considering participants' future needs for stability and continuity of care. Our proactive approach ensures that participants have a stable living situation that can adapt to their evolving needs, minimising disruptions and providing a sense of security.
