Maria Humayun

Maria Humayun is a behaviour support practitioner with over 10 years of experience in the disability sector. Maria has experience working in early intervention, school settings, professional settings and aged care.

Maria’s expertise encompasses supporting clients with complex conditions such as schizophrenia, dementia, aggression, sexually inappropriate behaviour, obsessive-compulsive disorder, self-harm, and conduct disorder. She has carved out a niche in rehabilitation, offering specialized support to diverse populations with complex needs.

With over five years in management roles, Maria has provided leadership, supervision, and training to staff in areas such as trauma-informed care, restorative practices, motivational interviewing, and comprehensive behaviour report writing. She is also experienced in reviewing restrictive practice reports, assisting with panel meetings, and collaborating closely with child protective services in NSW and ACT.

Maria is deeply committed to the recovery and reintegration of individuals facing disabilities and mental health challenges, with a focus on supporting CALD, LGBT, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
